what's it all about?

can be an effective and powerful tool for all kinds of issues. It's a way of learning to access our unconscious mind - that’s the part of us that is taking care of us, day and night, awake or asleep, regulating our breathing, sleeping and countless other functions we’re not even aware of. Hypnosis in this context is often referred to as self-hypnosis. The client is in control at all times, and is guided to a natural and pleasant state of focused attention and heightened awareness. By learning to access your unconscious mind in this way, it becomes flexible. It becomes easy and natural to absorb positive and healing suggestions and to develop unforced solutions to problems that may have been there for decades.

a fascinating toolkit for making lasting and rapid change. It's about giving our unconscious mind more choices.

Neurology – the way our brains and minds work has a powerful effect on our mental and physical wellbeing. NLP focuses on how we structure our inner reality, and how we can 'move the pieces around' in all kinds of interesting ways.

Linguistics – language affects the way our brains and minds work. What we say to ourselves and how we say it - these are things we may not even be aware of and they have an all-pervasive effect - in both positive and not-so-positive ways.

Programming – it may seem that 'our brain' often moves in the opposite direction to where we want to go - in habitual and frustrating patterns. We can learn what it is like to have new choices - even in areas where we thought we were stuck.

our brains are constantly changing, adjusting and learning at any age or stage in our lives. Here's what it means in a nutshell: the brain tends to default to what it has experienced in the past - to what it knows best. This reinforces neural pathways that may not always be helpful. A bit like the path of a stream that becomes a river, you may end up getting even more of what you don't want - stress, unhelpful habits, low mood. The great news is that at any age, you can create new and useful pathways, whilst respecting and cherishing the person you are.

nlp:

is how we put all this together and make good feelings and choices available and useful for you in your everyday life - just when you are in the thick of it, when things crop up in life, as they do! Just like in sports coaching, the aim is to get what you need as simply and effectively as possible.  There are opportunities for repetition and practice where this is appropriate. Positive change becomes an easier, intriguing and inspiring process.

coaching:

this powerful set of techniques works effectively on a whole host of issues such as performance anxiety, repetitive thoughts and intrusive memories. Emotional imprinting occurs when a person lays down an unhelpful or traumatic response to an experience. Integral Eye Movement Techniques can take the sting out of  painful and traumatic feelings and 'make your mind a nicer place'. My favourite quote is from Sonia Richards, who describes it as ‘ironing out life’s creases’.

"You did an amazing job with me! I had a real shift! ... I'm feeling relieved and at peace ..."

"I really valued my time spent with Frances and appreciated her approach. The sessions allowed me to see the matters with which I was dealing in a new way and to consequently find other, much more useful ways of coming into balance."
